No worry, it can be left on a wet counter and it will keep all the content dry. (cork does not let water, or other liquids in) If it falls in the water, (while closed) it will float, (the corks density is less than that of water. That is what makes it float)
Easy to maintain; does not require any spraying. All you need to do to keep it free of dirt is to apply any detergent and wipe off with a wet cloth soaked with water.
Cotton lining that is easy to wash.
